I Am A Craft Beer Drinker.

A video produced by New Brew Thursday. The craft beer industry is full of awesome people, breweries and of course, craft beer. This is a video made possible by members of New Brew Thursday, who include Stepehen Johnson, John Holzer, "Dr." Bill Sysak, and Brad Kohlenberg. We put a lot of time and love into it. Inspired by Greg Koch, of Stone Brewing Co.'s video, "I Am A Craft Brewer", this video pays respect to the craft beer drinker and their passion for craft beer.

Homebrew.

One of my favorite episodes to date of New Brew Thursday. We tasted five home-brewed beers from five home brewers. The beers had ingredients ranging from yams to peanut butter. It was Awesome...

Been a while...

I thought I'd write a quick post on the blog. I've been really busy. This is a good thing, right? New Brew Thursday has really turned into something very cool for me, outside of the coolness of the show itself. Work is still steady, yet unstable, if you ask me. I really value the things in my life right now—my girlfriend, job, friends, activities, my house, my toys... pretty much everything that brings joy to my life.

I've been really into video editing and photography lately since being involved with New Brew Thursday. It seems to be a hobby that I'm pretty good at and would even say I have a natural, er, talent for. I guess it's been that way with everything I throw myself into in life. I started playing guitar at 14 and I've done many things and gone very far with it. I was an excellent student. I got good grades and totally could have gone to college, but decided not to. I had no idea what to study in college and figured it wasn't for me. So, I got into elevators because it paid well and wouldn't you know it, I excelled there too. So, all in all, I am happy with where I am right now and the decisions I've made in my life.

I really don't know what the point of writing this was. Boredom, perhaps. It's a lazy Sunday. Maybe it's a short recap of my life to remind myself how lucky I am to be where I am today.

I'm happy.

We tasted a beer last night...

...And we (me and Yvonne) recorded it on video. The truth is, this video was done simply as a test so I had something to play around with, as far as lighting, video quality, export options, internet streaming options and audio. These were all the different areas I needed to explore with this video. It's safe to say that after a day of messing around with export settings and whatnot that I think I finally have the magic internet HD recipe down.

I decided to post this video because we thought it was somewhat entertaining and a bit embarrasing. But, we had fun.

Enjoy.

Save The VERMONSTER!

A brewery out of Morrisville, Vermont known as Rock Art Brewery is under attack by an energy drink company based in southern California known as Monster Energy. Rock Art Brewery has a new beer called "The Vermonster" and Monster Energy thinks the name of the beer will cause confusion between the two products, since Monster Energy may someday want to enter the alcoholic beverage market.

All in all, Monster Energy, a billion dollar company, is throwing their weight and money around.

Check out this video:

I wrote Monster Energy earlier this afternoon. Feel free to use my letter to complain to Monster Energy about this ridiculous claim, or just be creative and let them know how YOU feel.

My name is John Holzer. I am writing in support of the Vermont beer company known as Rock Art Brewery. I am asking that you consider ending your dispute with this small, independent brewer and entrepreneur. To even consider that any confusion could be made between Monster Energy products and a beer known as The Vermonster is absurd.

I have been a customer of Monster Energy for the last seven years. I am now officially boycotting ALL Monster Energy and Hansen products until this is resolved. Please stop trying to squash small business with your billion dollar feet and realize what you are doing is straight up bullying.

I will tell everyone I known through personal conversation, text message, Twitter, Facebook, email and blogging that Monster Energy is wrong and needs to back down from this issue.

Thanks for your time.

Uncle Ron

I found this photo today of my Uncle Ron from 2008. He was wearing my band's (Better Luck Next Time) shirt from our first ever major show in Japan, called @United, vol. 2. He was a great guy and supported my music full tilt. He passed away not too long ago.

Uncle Ronnie, You'll be missed.
